Many security systems come with sensors that you can attach to windows and doors in your home to monitor break-ins. One of the limitations of these devices is that they usually only include a single monitoring feature. In the long run, this is something that can cost you extra money if you move and end up with too much of one sensor and not enough of another. Manufacturer of security cameras Arlo may have an elegant solution for this problem.
At CES 2022, the company showcased a security system that includes an all-in-one multi-sensor with eight monitoring functions. It can detect movement (including door and window openings), water leaks, changes in light and temperature, as well as sounds emitted by T3 and T4 smoke detectors. Each sensor is approximately one inch wide and connects to a modular hub that includes a backlit keypad and NFC connectivity so you can use your phone to activate and disarm the system. The hub is also compatible with Arlo various security cameras and his Secure subscription service.
The Arlo security system will go on sale in the first half of 2022, according to a statement the company shared with The edge. He promised to release more information, including pricing details, closer to the release. The company has nothing to say about smart home security system integrations today, but has announced that it will support the Matter the standard is moving forward. In its simplest form, Matter’s promise is that you will be able to purchase a device and use it with any voice assistant of your choice and easily connect it to your existing home network.
